Please review these eligibility, submission and other requirements carefully before submitting your application.

ASTS established the Socioeconomic and Racial Disparities (SERD) in Transplantation Grant Award to facilitate innovative research in addressing health disparities in transplantation. The ASTS considers it a high priority to provide research grant funding that encourages transplant surgeons and other professionals to actively pursue research to eliminate health disparities in transplantation.  The ASTS seeks proposals aimed at addressing and decreasing disparities in transplantation. Examples may include, increasing access to transplantation for health disparities populations, increasing minority donation, and improving transplant outcomes in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. ASTS members from population groups who are historically underrepresented in surgery and medicine are especially encouraged to apply, but all are welcome to apply as we all work towards a common goal. ASTS is grateful to partner with Takeda to offer this research opportunity in 2024.
